OverPayWise is operated by the OverPayWise site owner as an independent educational mortgage planning website. Questions about privacy, data rights, or correction requests can be sent through the contact page or by email at contact@overpaywise.com.
What OverPayWise provides
OverPayWise provides educational mortgage calculators, mortgage journeys, mortgage maths lessons, tutorials, worked examples, practice questions, investment comparison tools, FAQs, guides, and support pages. The site is for learning and scenario planning only. It does not provide mortgage advice, tax advice, investment advice, lender recommendations, or product recommendations.
What data may be collected
Calculator and journey inputs
Most mortgage, buying-cost, dashboard, overpayment, offset, remortgage, and investment-comparison values are processed in your browser. Some values may be carried between pages using query parameters or browser session state so a journey can stay consistent.
Learning interactions
Tutorials, mortgage maths lessons, worked examples, and practice questions may use page or browser state to show progress, filters, opened answers, or learning context. They do not require an account.
Contact submissions
If you contact OverPayWise, we receive the name, email address, subject, message, and any details you choose to include so we can read, triage, and respond.
Analytics and technical data
With consent, Google Analytics 4 can receive page-view and feature-usage events. Hosting, browser, security, and analytics systems may also process limited technical information such as browser type, approximate region, device type, referring page, and pages visited.
Calculator, journey, and investment comparison inputs
You do not need an account to use OverPayWise. Calculator inputs such as mortgage balance, property value, deposit, interest rate, term, fees, overpayments, surplus cash, offset savings, assumed investment returns, or remortgage figures are processed in your browser.
Some journeys carry values between pages using query parameters or browser session state so that affordability, stamp duty, mortgage comparison, dashboard, remortgage, offset, overpay-vs-invest, and mortgage freedom tools can stay consistent. Query parameters can appear in your browser address bar and may be visible to anyone you share the link with. OverPayWise does not create a user account or saved plan from those values.
Avoid entering information that directly identifies you, your mortgage account, lender account, bank account, National Insurance number, or other sensitive personal details into calculator fields or shared links.
Cookies and analytics
OverPayWise uses a cookie consent banner for non-essential analytics. If you accept, Google Analytics 4 may be loaded to help understand which pages, calculators, journeys, tutorials, worked examples, and practice questions are useful.
Analytics events are intended to describe page views and feature usage, not sensitive financial values. OverPayWise aims to avoid sending mortgage balances, property values, deposits, rates, payments, investment assumptions, query strings, or other calculator inputs in analytics metadata.
If you decline non-essential cookies, Google Analytics should not be loaded by OverPayWise for that browser unless you later change or clear your consent choice. Your cookie choice is stored in your browser using local storage so the banner does not keep reappearing.
Contact form and correction reports
If you use the contact form, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address, subject, message, calculator feedback, correction report, accessibility issue, content suggestion, or details about a website problem. We use this to read, triage, and respond to your message. The contact form is submitted through Web3Forms when the form is configured, so your submission may also be processed by that service to deliver the message.
If your message is about a calculator result, include only the page, inputs, and expected behaviour needed to explain the issue. Do not send mortgage account numbers, bank details, identity documents, or other sensitive personal financial information.
Contact messages are kept only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, investigate a reported issue, maintain a correction record, or protect the website from misuse.
Your choices and rights
Because OverPayWise does not offer accounts or saved plans, most calculator and journey values are controlled by your own browser and the links you choose to open or share. For contact messages and personal information you have chosen to send, you can use the contact page or email us about the following:
- Ask what contact information you have sent to OverPayWise and request a copy where applicable.
- Ask for inaccurate contact information you sent to be corrected.
- Ask for a contact message to be deleted where it is reasonable and lawful to do so.
- Decline or withdraw consent for non-essential analytics cookies using the cookie banner.
- Clear your browser storage or avoid sharing links that include personal scenario values.
- Contact OverPayWise if a calculator, journey, or learning page appears to expose information it should not.
Some rights depend on your location and the reason information is held, and legal exceptions may apply. We will use the contact route above to respond to data rights requests.
